According to Peskov, the second round of meetings was initially planned for February 1, but was postponed due to the need to coordinate the schedules of the Russian, Ukrainian, and US delegations.
It is now confirmed that the negotiations will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not rule out postponing the Abu Dhabi meeting due to the escalation of relations between the US and Iran.
The first stage of negotiations involving the US took place on January 23-24 in a closed format. At that time, the parties for the first time directly discussed the peace plan proposed by Washington. All participants assessed the meeting as constructive.
As reported by the media, the most difficult issue in the negotiations was the problem of territories, and the idea of creating a buffer zone was also discussed. Peskov noted that control over Donbas and Western security guarantees for Ukraine remain key obstacles to reaching agreements.
At the end of January, US presidential special envoy Steve Whitkoff expressed cautious optimism after a meeting in Florida involving Russian and American representatives.
