Iranian authorities have officially confirmed the death of Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. This was reported by the Fars news agency.
The Tasnim agency specifies that his son, Morteza, and his head of security also died alongside Larijani.
On the morning of March 17, information emerged that the Israel Defense Forces had carried out an airstrike on a safe house in Iran, targeting Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. Along with him, as reported, Basij Forces commander Gholamreza Soleimani was killed in this attack. Soleimani's death has also been officially confirmed.
After the elimination of Ayatollah Khamenei, the head of Iran's Security Council, Larijani, was effectively the most influential person in the country.

Tasnim agency's report on the death of Ali Larijani
He is considered the driving force behind Iran's nuclear program, which was meant to give the ayatollahs a tool with which they could wipe Israel off the world map.
Larijani is also held responsible for the inhumane shooting of demonstrators this winter. At that time, according to official data alone, more than 3,000 people died, mostly young men and women.
Larijani's elimination showed that Iran's leadership is still unable to protect itself. It could become an impetus for power in the country to shift into the hands of less fanatical individuals.
