American rock band Eagles, creators of hits like Hotel California, have officially confirmed the conclusion of their 55‑year career.
In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, co-founder Don Henley stated that 2026 will likely be the band's last year of touring.
Commenting on the final stage of The Long Goodbye tour, the artist noted that the Eagles plan to play a few more concerts, after which they will finally bid farewell to the stage: «You know, I think this year will probably be the last. I've said something similar before, but now I feel like we're really nearing the end. And that's okay.»
The band was founded in 1971 in Los Angeles by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. They gained global fame with Hotel California, but Take It Easy, Desperado, and Take It to the Limit are also well-known.
The album Their Greatest Hits (1971—1975) sold over 40 million copies in the US alone.
