In Minsk, problems with trolleybus movement have arisen for the third time in recent days. According to information from the "Minsktrans" enterprise, at night in various parts of the city, transport stopped due to damage to the contact network; similar problems are also being recorded throughout the day.
Starting from the morning of February 14, the "Minsktrans" Telegram channel reported damage to the contact network ten times.
On Friday, February 13, there were 27 such incidents, and on Thursday — 26.
Damage to the contact network is often accompanied by a bright flash. Residents of Minsk are massively recording such moments on video and uploading them to social networks.
Malfunctions began on the evening of February 13. On Saturday morning, trolleybuses were not running on Alibiehava, Brylia, Bryleuskaja, Holubieva, Niamiha, Miasnikova, Krupyskaja, Virskaja, Rusijanava, Nikifarava, Arlouskaja, Skrypnikava, Adzintsova streets, as well as on Pushkina and Dziarzhynskaha avenues and Staravilenski tract. As a result, dozens of routes were forced to change their path and operate with detours.
What caused today's damage to the contact network has not been officially reported. Earlier, however, disruptions in the operation of electric transport were explained by difficult weather conditions.
"Minsktrans" noted that the stoppage of trolleybuses is associated with an increase in air temperature, precipitation, and the deposition of salt fog on the contact network. Under the influence of these factors, insulation breakdown occurs in the contact network. As a result, the protection is triggered, and the voltage in the network is automatically disconnected.
