The playoff bracket for the Olympic ice hockey tournament has been determined. It uses a tricky system

The tournament, which involves 12 teams, uses a tricky system. First, these 12 teams are divided into three groups of four teams each and play in a standard single-round robin format.
But then no one is eliminated, and all teams are ranked from 1 to 12. The first three places are taken by the group winners, as well as the best team from the second-place finishers. The remaining teams are ranked from 4th to 12th place depending on points scored, head-to-head games, and goals scored.
Thus, all teams continue their fight.
The top four teams (in our case, Canada, USA, Slovakia (group winners) and Finland (best second-placed team) advanced directly to the quarterfinals and have two days of rest.
Meanwhile, in the Round of 16, tomorrow, February 17, Switzerland will play Italy, Germany will play France, the Czech Republic will play Denmark, and Sweden will play Latvia.
