In Russia, they started fining not for subscriptions, but for searching for "extremist materials"
In Russia, people have started to be held administratively liable for searching for "extremist materials". Three such fines are known, writes the "Verstka" publication.

Thus, on February 5, a court in Chechnya fined local resident Isa Magamadov for searching for "extremist materials". The amount of the fine and the circumstances of the case are unknown. Previously, Magamadov worked at the private security company "Alfa-Legion", whose founders are members of the Association of Alpha Special Forces Veterans.
Earlier in February, the commission for juvenile affairs fined a 16-year-old teenager from the Kemerovo region three thousand Russian rubles (110 Belarusian rubles) for searching for information about an "organization recognized as terrorist".
The first fine (also about 110 Belarusian rubles) was issued on December 10, 2025 — to a resident of Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk region. Nurse Sergey Glukhikh was punished for viewing an image of the chevron of the "Azov" battalion.
