On March 6, the Minsk City Court sentenced the woman to four years and nine months of imprisonment. As Alena has already been behind bars for more than four years, this period was credited by the court towards her sentence, and she was therefore released during the trial.
This time, the woman was accused under Part 1 of Art. 130 of the Criminal Code (inciting other social hatred) and Part 3 of Art. 361 of the Criminal Code (calls for sanctions or other actions detrimental to national security).
Alena Malinovskaya was convicted in 2022 along with Liliya Ananyan and Anatol Latushka, cousin of politician Pavel Latushka. She was sentenced to four years of imprisonment for "hooliganism" (Art. 339 of the Criminal Code) and "desecration of state symbols" (Art. 370 of the Criminal Code) — for drawings of the "Pahonia" emblem and a burnt flag.
On August 31, 2025, Alena was supposed to be released, but a new criminal case was opened against her, and she was transferred to the pre-trial detention center. In total, 8 episodes were attributed to Alena. What exactly the political prisoner was accused of is not yet known.
