29-year-old Karyna Kutsko hails from the agro-town Khadaki in Ivatsevichy district. In 2019, she graduated from BNTU and remained in Minsk. Recently, she worked in the branch of construction and installation department No. 7 (SMU-7) of OJSC "Belselelektrosetkibud" — a large organization involved in electrification.
Karyna held the position of chief specialist for the development of estimated documentation.
In addition to her main job at the state enterprise, Karyna sought herself in creative pursuits. She completed courses in 3D visualization and interior design, ran a blog about it on Instagram, and published her works on Behance.

Karyna was convicted in the Minsk City Court under parts 1 and 2 of Art. 361-4 of the Criminal Code ("aiding extremist activity"). The persecution is likely connected to the Gayun case.
"Belaruski Hajun" is an OSINT monitoring project created in 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine through Belarus. The project tracked the military activity of Russian and Belarusian troops, relying on information from Belarusians. Its activities were coordinated by a group of activists led by Anton Motolko.
The Gayun case began after security forces detained an activist who had lived underground in Belarus for several years. A link to join the Gayun bot, which had been sent to her at the very beginning of the project's existence, was found on her mobile phone. The fatal mistake was that the link was permanent. As a result, the security forces were able to connect to the bot and extract all information from it. They obtained messages from accounts that had written to the bot, as well as their IDs and usernames.
The girl herself was detained because she was forced to contact state structures and medical personnel. Her boyfriend, who was hiding with her, developed serious health problems following the arrest of his father.
The founder of Gayun, Anton Motolko, immediately after the hack, explained how the information leak occurred and announced the closure of the project.
