Legs McNeil, Gillian McCain — "Please Kill Me! The Uncensored Oral History of Punk" (1997)

This is the "bible" of punk rock, compiled from hundreds of interviews with musicians, party-goers, and eyewitnesses of the era. A brutal, funny, and honest story about the behind-the-scenes life of Iggy Pop, the Ramones, and the formation of an entire subculture, without censorship.
