On February 12, Dotsenko was hospitalized with a severe heart attack. A few days later, his condition worsened, and doctors placed him in a medically induced coma.
In 2024, Alexander Dotsenko and his wife Anastasia Dyudyaeva were sentenced to three and three and a half years of imprisonment in a penal settlement, respectively. The artist was serving this sentence.
A criminal case against the Dotsenkos was initiated due to pro-Ukrainian leaflets found in the 'Lenta' supermarket. One of them contained the phrase 'Putin on a gallows'. The accused did not admit their guilt.
