A 39-year-old Minsk resident grew seven cannabis bushes at home and stored marijuana.

He was detained in December 2025 when the man left his house to take out the trash. In his apartment on Odintsova Street, more than 1 g of marijuana and a smoking device were found and confiscated. In a cabinet on the balcony, a grow box assembled from improvised materials was found with seven cannabis bushes, report "Minsk-News".
A criminal case was opened against the Minsk resident. He stated that he first tried marijuana in his youth, after which he used it periodically. In August-September 2025, he went to his dacha in the Minsk region and found a wild cannabis bush, from which he plucked leaves and collected seeds. The man dried, crushed, and smoked the leaves, and planted the seeds in the soil. Previously, the man worked as a psychiatrist-narcologist, and then became an individual entrepreneur. Shortly before his arrest, he smoked marijuana again.
The man is accused under Part 1 of Art. 328 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors and analogues") and Part 1 of Art. 329 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal sowing and (or) cultivation of plants or fungi containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances"). He was released on personal recognizance pending trial.
