Kupala Theater actor boasted that he has been playing in "Paulinka" for 5 years. But he wrote with an error
Young Kupala Theater actor Ilya Kruk, who joined the troupe after the 2020 protests, shared his pride and pain on social media.

«It's been 5 years since I started playing Yakim in the famous 'Paulinka'. P.S. During this time, about 250 performances of the play have taken place», — the actor wrote in Russian on Threads.
And then, attaching a screenshot of a comment stating that he occupies the place of talented actors who were ousted due to their disagreement with the regime, he added:
«And for 5 years now, I've been receiving such comments addressed to me, to my colleagues and friends. 5 years ago it was very scary, it seemed that I was a villain, not an actor — but a disgrace, that my career was over.
But now I understand that I am doing my favorite thing, for some I am opening up the world of Belarusian culture and art.
So, are these comments worth someone's fate? Does it make the world brighter and kinder?»
Now, in the comments to the actor's post, he was criticized for writing the play's name incorrectly (the correct form is "у «Паўлінцы»" — "in 'Paulinka'").
«It's a pity that while performing in "Paulinka" in Belarusian, you are unable to write in Belarusian, and furthermore, you make a gross error in the endings of Belarusian words».
«It's sad that Kupala Theater actors don't even use the Belarusian language and can't learn what's correct in "Paulinka". But what can one expect from such a theater».
Some also recalled the devastating blow to the theater after 2020.
25-year-old Ilya Kruk is from Brest. He is a graduate of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts. He became the youngest actor to ever play Yakim and one of the youngest Kupala Theater members. He joined the Kupala Theater in his 4th year [of studies].
