What really happened near Smolevichi? This is the most logical reason for the raid by furious Russian teenagers
An analysis of concise official information and a comparison of minor details allows for a more or less realistic conclusion about what caused the dramatic story in Budagovo, where foreign teenagers attacked a private house.
On February 16, 2026, three Russian teenagers — one 17 years old, the others 18 — broke into a private house in the agro-town of Budagovo, Smolevichi district, through a window at dawn. The house was on Solnechnaya Street, closest to the forest.
Armed with metal bats, a pistol (presumably pneumatic, because, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there was a shootout, but no case for attempted murder of an officer was opened) and knives, the Russians severely beat three elderly people they found in the house.
A woman's arm was broken with a bat, men's scalps were cut with pistol handles, and one had his nose broken.
"We needed to beat, cripple, film it, we do all this for money," the attackers would later explain.
The savagery was stopped by a patrol of the security department because, by a lucky coincidence, there was an alarm button in the house, which the owner, awakened by dogs, managed to press.
But was it such a coincidence that there was a button in the house? And was it a coincidence that the sleepy owner ran to look out the windows only after hearing dog barks?
One might think not — the owner had something to worry about. His car had already been burned in the summer.
On August 15, 2025, at the end of the working day — at 5 p.m. — firefighters received a signal about a fire in a garage connected to the house.
"The car in the garage burned completely, along with it the garage and property were destroyed," the summary dryly reported, without specifying the causes of the fire.

Probably, the owners were not at home at this time, because a large area managed to burn down, which would not have happened if they had immediately reported the fire to the rescuers. Did they install the alarm button after this incident?
As for the scenario of the raid on the same house on February 16, 2026, it perfectly matches the practice of drug shops punishing their "employees" who stop fulfilling their duties as drug couriers.

In the time between pressing the alarm button and the arrival of the patrol, the attackers managed to climb into the house through a window using ladders, find three people in the large house, overcome their resistance, and inflict serious injuries, filming all of it. The standard arrival time for a security department patrol is 7 minutes. The time of the police call is known — 04:17, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs never reported the arrival time of the patrol. And they even cleaned up information about the extent of the injuries from their initial release. So, did they arrive late? Lukashenka later removed this delicate question from Kubrakov, praising him for personally "arriving earlier than the ambulance" — although this is not true. By the time Kubrakov arrived, the ambulance had already provided aid to the victims. Photo: ONT screenshot
Such video recordings are abundant in the dark segment of the network: desperate young people in balaclavas — "sporty guys" (slang for athletic-looking individuals, supposedly from the 1990s) — catch couriers whom the drug shop administration suspects of stealing drugs issued for sale, and then brutally beat them, sometimes even accidentally killing them — as a lesson to others. Reports are posted on special forums. Performers for such work are sought there as well. The act of beating, however, does not exempt the victim from the need to work off the accumulated debt or pay it in money.
It is assumed that such victims will not go to the authorities because they will have to explain the reasons for their injuries — and consequently, go to prison for drug trafficking.
This is all very popular in Russia, but in Belarus, such practices have almost disappeared because they have been caught. Any political prisoner will tell you how many such "sporty guys" fill the colonies.
Notably, they are judged not only for inflicting bodily harm but also under the most severe Part 4 of Article 328. Their actions are also interpreted as belonging to a drug cartel, and they receive 10 to 20 years of imprisonment. Such measures have been quite successful in thinning out locals capable of such violence, but for Russian perpetrators, Belarus is a dark forest. That is why such people were found.
How do the attackers know the addresses? Drug shops provide them: a photo of the passport with registration pages is a very common requirement when "hiring" couriers. Then, employees are sought at these addresses.
Another piece of evidence for this version is the "gentleman's set" that the Russians had with them.

A distinctive detail in it is the "888" deck of cards.
One could, of course, assume that the teenagers entertained themselves with complex card games ("888" is a large 54-card poker deck). But it is more likely that they intended to leave one of these cards at the crime scene as a signature — a mark referring to the заказчик (client/orderer). Such a practice exists, and it is popular among juvenile criminals.
Three eights is the name of a large drug shop that has been operating in Russia since at least 2024.

In the comments to this drug shop, drug addicts regularly complain about "not founds" and "empty stashes" — each such case is, in essence, a trigger for disputes with the courier.
It is unlikely that any of the victims traffics drugs in Russia. Their social profiles do not fit such activity. The owner of the house is generally a musician who is now looking for quiet retirement-age side jobs, like working as a security guard.
One could also consider the version that the Russians wanted to steal something from this house. Although from the published interiors, it is clear that the victim's family lives very modestly.
Perhaps the Russian attackers were looking for someone else, but got the address wrong?
But now these versions also fall away. Here's what the victim vaguely says in the ONT report:
"This is an order to put pressure on another person, I will not say whom, but it is our close relative, located abroad."

Who is this close relative, for whom "sporty guys" traveled from Russia? Son? Nephew? Grandson? It doesn't matter so much; the police will now deal with this. It is possible that criminal prosecution will await not only the Russian teenage attackers but also him.
