Aliyev called the attack by Iranian drones on Nakhchivan a terrorist act

“The Azerbaijani state strongly condemns this heinous terrorist act, and the perpetrators must be immediately brought to justice,” said Ilham Aliyev.
He added that Iran must provide explanations to Azerbaijan and apologize. Aliyev also emphasized that Azerbaijan does not and will not participate in operations against Iran.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Armed Forces deny striking Azerbaijani territory with drones.
At the same time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai confirmed Tehran's statements that Iran did not launch the missile intercepted in Turkish airspace the day before. He said this to the Spanish TV channel TVE.
On Thursday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that drone strikes were launched from Iranian territory against the city of Nakhchivan in the Azerbaijani exclave, injuring two people (Azerbaijani media report four injured).
“One drone fell on the airport terminal building,” the other — “near a school building in the village of Shekerabad,” the statement said. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense stated that “acts of aggression will not go unanswered.”
