The National Anti-Doping Laboratory is currently conducting a clinical bioequivalence study (the drug "Pertuzumab"). In simple terms, they want to check if the new drug works the same way as the original.

Pertuzumab itself is used to treat breast cancer (by the way, this type of cancer is most common among Belarusian women).

It is stated that the conduct of the drug study has been approved by the Ministry of Health and an independent ethical committee. Healthy men aged 18 to 45 are sought as volunteers.

The study itself will look like this: first, the person will undergo a full medical examination, then they will be hospitalized from Friday to Sunday and administered the drug. Afterwards, outpatient visits will be required according to an agreed schedule.

A fee for participants is provided — they promise to pay 4000 rubles to each.

Threads users were surprised that the breast cancer drug is planned to be tested exclusively on men. But the answer turned out to be trivial: according to the rules for conducting bioequivalence studies, the gender of participants does not matter, however, the risk for women of childbearing age must be taken into account. In this case, it was decided to limit the participation of women of childbearing age to minimize risks to the reproductive system.

Men who wish to participate in the study need to fill out a short questionnaire on the website of the National Anti-Doping Laboratory. Among the standard questions about age, occupation, and contact details, there are also questions about alcohol and drug consumption, as well as smoking.

It will also be necessary to state whether the man is a vegetarian and whether he regularly takes any medications (including dietary supplements). They will also ask to admit if the person has previously participated in any clinical studies and how long ago it was.
