"I have instructed the relevant authorities to ensure full and immediate access for Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote.
He reminded that recently rocket debris fell a few meters from the church, and in this regard, Israel asked representatives of all denominations to temporarily refrain from visiting shrines in the Old City of Jerusalem.
"While I understand these concerns, as soon as I became aware of the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to ensure the Patriarch's ability to conduct services at his discretion," Netanyahu stated.
