Sweden expressed support for the European Humanities University after it was recognized as an "extremist organization" in Belarus.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry stated that this decision is a blow to academic freedom and opportunities for Belarusian youth, and also affects Lithuania.
Sweden emphasized that it has long supported EHU and continues to express solidarity with the university, its faculty, and students.
Similar support was also expressed by the foreign ministries of Lithuania and Estonia.
