In Czechia, the son of a Belarusian political emigrant attempted to poison himself with a large dose of pregabalin — a medication prescribed for pain and anxiety. The young man is currently in one of the district hospitals, in intensive care on a ventilator. He is in a coma; his internal organs are functioning, but his brain is partially damaged.
The young man is receiving medical care, but his father wants to consult with Belarusian toxicologists and neurologists to hear additional expert opinions.
"This is a tragic case. The Office of Democratic Forces is in contact with the hospital where the young Belarusian is hospitalized and with his father, who is currently in forced migration in another country and who came to Czechia as soon as the situation with his son became known.
Also, at the father's request, we contacted Belarusian repressed doctors who moved to Czechia under the Medevac program, the representative of ByMedSol, and the chairman of the association of Russian-speaking doctors in Czechia Doktor Čechov, with a request to help with contacts of toxicologists and neurologists," says Kristina Shiyanok, head of the Office of Democratic Forces in Czechia.
