Group of online fraudsters detained in Poland. A Belarusian citizen among them
A total of seven people were arrested.

All of them have been arrested for three months, the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime reported. The case is being overseen by the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość, Most reports.
According to the investigation, group members posed as bank and police employees to extort quick payment codes, including BLIK, from victims. The total damage in the case amounts to over 232,000 zlotys (50,000 euros).
The suspects performed various roles: some opened bank accounts, others withdrew cash from ATMs, and still others handled banking applications. So far, five victims have been identified.
One of the victims was a resident of Lublin Voivodeship, who lost about 5,000 euros. The fraudsters contacted her, posing as a bank employee, and thus obtained the BLIK code.
To increase trust, the criminals used phone numbers registered to dummy individuals, forged documents, and fake police IDs. They also used messengers and even made video calls.
As the investigation established, the criminals used specially prepared phones with banking applications, allowing them to quickly transfer money to other accounts. To withdraw funds, they engaged so-called "financial mules," whom they found through online job advertisements. These individuals provided their accounts, often unaware of the consequences.
Victims, believing they were protecting their savings, transferred money to the specified accounts. After this, the funds were immediately withdrawn from ATMs by so-called "cashers," who kept a portion of the amount as a reward.
Arrests took place during two operations in Warsaw and Katowice. According to the investigation, the suspects were responsible for finding bank accounts, withdrawing money, and providing technical support for the scheme.
