How to get a driver's license in Belarusian? It's simpler than you think
A girl who recently took her driving test shared a story on social media about being asked at the application window if she wanted to receive her driver's license in Belarusian. It turned out that many hadn't even considered such a possibility.

'I was registering for a re-exam at the State Automobile Inspectorate (GAI), and the girl at the window asked: do you want your license in Belarusian? And I was just about to ask her how to do it... She took my papers and clearly marked that I needed my license in Belarusian,' the girl recounts her story.
Some people write that they were also asked if they wanted their license in Belarusian.
'They offered it to me at the window too! I thought about bringing her candies but forgot,' another girl admits.
By default, your driver's license data will be filled out in Russian. However, getting a Belarusian-language license is not difficult at all.
If no questions are asked, when submitting documents, you should explicitly state that you want the license to be filled out in Belarusian. Usually, just saying it verbally is enough.
Among the commentators, there were those who had done this more than once.
'Both times, when submitting documents at the window, I simply said I wanted the license in Belarusian,' a man writes.
Others made the request in writing — by hand, they added the note 'I request the issuance of a driver's license in Belarusian'.
Some admit that they didn't even know about such a possibility.
'I didn't know that was possible. It's a pity I only found out now, as I changed my license last May. You sort of take such things as an unchangeable fact by default,' writes one of the commentators.
'I didn't know about this and got it in Russian,' adds another girl.
