In addition to the European Union, the cards will also not be usable in the UK, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. It will be impossible to withdraw cash from ATMs, make payments in stores and online, pay for subscriptions, make transfers, and perform other operations there.
The press service of Alfa-Bank noted that such a development was expected, and advised those currently abroad in these countries to withdraw money in advance. Alfa-Bank has temporarily canceled its commission for withdrawing funds abroad.
Within Belarus and in other countries where there are no restrictions, the cards will remain valid.
Previously, in mid-March, Visa cards from these same banks already stopped working in these countries. All these measures are related to EU sanctions.
