A 34-year-old unemployed Minsk resident has been brought to criminal responsibility 12 times for property crimes, writes the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.
Here are just his latest adventures.
In August 2025, he visited an acquaintance who lives on Alshevsky Street. The men were drinking. When the apartment owner left the room, the guest stole a SIM card and a gold ring worth over 2500 rubles from a casket. He also took the car keys that were lying on the dresser.
The owner noticed the disappearance of the items almost immediately, but the guest assured him he hadn't taken anything and even pretended to look for the ring and keys. After saying goodbye to his friend, the thief went to the Kia Rio parked in the yard, started it with the stolen key, and, while drunk, drove to Navahrudak.
It should be noted that the man had previously been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for driving without a license. And this time, he did not have a driver's license — he had lost it for drunk driving.
Two months later, the Minsk resident robbed a girl — he stole 40 rubles from the pocket of her fur coat.
Another criminal case was initiated against the man; he was immediately charged under four criminal articles — Part 2 Art. 205 of the Criminal Code (theft), Part 2 Art. 214 of the Criminal Code (carjacking), Part 1 Art. 317-2 of the Criminal Code (driving without a license), and Part 2 Art. 206 of the Criminal Code (robbery).
The trial recently concluded. The man was sentenced to six years of imprisonment in a strict-regime correctional facility. In addition, the Minsk resident must undergo compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.
