An agouti arrived at the Grodno Zoo from the Minsk Zoo. It's a male, 1 year old. He will live in a mixed exhibition group in the same enclosure with ring-tailed lemurs, the zoo announced on its Telegram channel.

Unlike the turtles, Globus, Santa, and Augustina greeted their new neighbor quite emotionally. Staff were surprised: we didn't even know lemurs could make such sounds!
At first, the agouti was a bit confused. This is understandable: a new environment, plus these tailed creatures were making a fuss. But overnight, the newcomer settled in and now feels good.
The new pet was given the name Lenia, and now Grodno Zoo has its own Leonid Agutin, the zoo jokes.

Agoutis are a genus of mammals from the order of rodents. They are the closest relatives of guinea pigs, living in the tropical forests of Central and South America. Agoutis can reach up to 50 cm in length and weigh up to 4 kg.
These animals are nocturnal, feeding on fruits and other plant-based food.
