Zakhar Prilepin's 21-year-old son fights as an assault trooper in Ukraine
Ignat Prilepin joined the "Rodnya" unit as an assault trooper, which is part of the international "Pyatnashka" brigade, and is participating in the war against Ukraine in the Sloviansk direction. This was reported by the writer and propagandist Zakhar Prilepin himself to Z-military correspondent Semyon Pegov. The video was posted on the latter's Telegram channel, WarGonzo.

"We've already called this meeting 'fathers and children'. Because, accordingly, before you are two fathers and two sons. The fathers are adults, I wouldn't say heroic, but experienced. And the children are definitely heroic, because here with me stands Grigory 'Sanka' Tishin, frankly, a militiaman from 2014-15, who returned to the SMO. And besides all that, he is also the prototype of the main character of the novel 'Sankya'."

The "Pyatnashka" interbrigade and its commander, the Abkhazian Akhra Avidzba, are accused of committing a number of serious crimes: looting, kidnappings, torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war, and illegal participation in hostilities in the Donetsk region.
In October 2025, the writer and propagandist Zakhar Prilepin announced his return to the front after recovering from injuries and wounds sustained after his car was blown up by a mine in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
In May 2023, Zakhar Prilepin's car was blown up in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result, he himself sustained serious injuries, and bodyguard Alexander Shubin died on the spot. On the same day, Alexander Permyakov was detained near the scene of the assassination attempt. In September 2024, a military court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
