Forecasters warn that spring will temporarily retreat from Belarus
Belhydromet warns that a sharp cold snap will arrive in Belarus in the coming days due to the so-called "diving" cyclones, which are forming over the areas of the Greenland and Norwegian Seas.

These cyclones are moving along an unusual trajectory — from northwest to southeast — and rapidly bring cold air from northern latitudes. As a result, already on Thursday, April 23, rain and wet snow are expected in many regions of the country.
The temperature will noticeably drop:
- at night: from +1 to +7;
- during the day: from +6 to +15 depending on the region.
At the same time, the wind will intensify — gusts will reach 15—20 m/s, and on some days even up to 22 m/s.
On Friday, April 24, it will get even colder: at night, frosts down to -3 are possible, during the day, the temperature will remain within +7…+14. On Saturday and Sunday, the weather will remain unstable — rain, wet snow, strong winds, and a further drop in temperatures.
By the end of the week and the beginning of the next period:
- at night, temperatures may drop to -4,
- during the day, it will not be higher than +11.
Forecasters emphasize that spring is temporarily retreating, and cold, windy, and wet weather will set in the country with signs of late winter.
