Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Saint Petersburg, where he is expected to be received by Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

Araghchi also plans to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for "continued consultations on regional and international issues" and "improving bilateral relations."
According to Araghchi, this meeting will be "a good opportunity to discuss developments in the war and assess the current situation."
Earlier, Iran offered the U.S. to open the Strait of Hormuz as diplomatic efforts reached an impasse, and last weekend, the second round of US-Iran talks in Islamabad was canceled.
