A mobile application "Я_ОК" (I_OK) has appeared in Belarus, which allows monitoring the condition and safety of relatives living alone or at a distance. It was developed by the HTP resident company "AMIS-ITi", writes Devby.io.

With the help of the service, you can find out that everything is fine with an elderly relative, a lonely person, or a person with a chronic illness, and if necessary, quickly receive a signal and act.
The user needs to press one button twice a day to confirm that everything is fine. If the mark is not received at the specified time, the program automatically sends a notification (push, SMS or email) to a trusted person — a relative, friend, neighbor or social worker. The service should not create a feeling of total control, but perform the function of "quiet insurance": the person retains independence, and loved ones — peace of mind.
The developers took into account the peculiarities of the target audience — people of the older generation and those who do not always have access to modern devices and stable internet. The application is supported even by not the most modern devices, and in the absence or instability of an internet connection, the system automatically switches to SMS and continues sending until the notification is successfully delivered. Access to the contact list is not needed — it is enough to specify the phone number or email of the trusted person once.
"The development demonstrates how IT solutions can respond to specific social challenges: an aging population, an increasing number of lonely people, the need for remote care without invading personal space," note the HTP.
