President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes that there was not even an imitative attempt by Russia to cease fire. The head of Ukraine wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
"During the past night, the Russian army continued to strike at Ukrainian positions. As of 7 AM, more than 140 shellings of positions on the front were already recorded. Russians conducted 10 assault operations this night, and most of them were in the Sloviansk direction," Zelenskyy emphasized.
Also, according to the president, the occupiers carried out more than 850 drone strikes of various types: FPV, "Lancet," and others. There were also attack drones. And the use of reconnaissance drones in the sky over frontline settlements did not stop.
"All this clearly indicates that there was not even an imitative attempt by the Russian side to cease fire on the front. Just as with yesterday's results, with today's Ukraine will act symmetrically. We will defend our positions and people's lives. Russia must end its war, and everyone will truly notice this when a movement towards peace begins," Zelenskyy stated.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the night of May 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with 67 drones of the type "Shahed," "Gerbera," "Italmas," and imitation drones "Parodiya" from the directions: Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo — RF, Gvardeyskoye — Crimea.
