The decision to close the magazine was made at the House of Press. The last issue of "On Screens" was released back in December 2025, but the editorial board is still processing what has been done over the years of its existence to transfer everything to the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Audio Documents.
The team is saddened by this turn of events, but can do nothing. In recent years, the circulation of "On Screens" was a paltry 500 copies. The magazine had only 16 pages.
Before its closure, the magazine was rightfully considered a veteran of the Belarusian press — it was founded in 1957. Among other things, the publication's team was at the origin of the creation of the "Listapad" film festival. The magazine was also the main information partner of the national film studio "Belarusfilm".
The position of editor-in-chief of "On Screens" was held by Liudmila Perahudava, a lecturer at the BSU Faculty of Journalism. In total, renowned film scholars and critics, candidates and doctors of sciences — Tatsiana Arlova, Nelli Krivasheeva, Liudmila Sayankova, and others — were published on the magazine's pages at various times.
