"I thought nothing could surprise me." Paid tables introduced at a Minsk shopping center food court

A Threads user shared a photo from the Diamond City shopping center in Minsk, where, according to the corresponding sign, the food court now has paid tables.

"I thought nothing could surprise me anymore. But no. Paid tables in the food court surprised me," shared the Belarusian, expressing his impressions.

Table rental on weekdays costs 1 ruble per hour, while an "island" will cost 6 rubles. On weekends, prices double.

"So many paid services can be invented because 'money is really needed' :) For example, at a stadium during a match, 5 toilet stalls are free, and 7 are paid )) And then the question is why there are crowds and queues," the author complains.

"Does this mean you can rent a table, take out your own food and drinks, and sit there? Like, can you even celebrate a birthday there with your own stuff?" commentators raise the stakes.

However, there were also users who fully understood the innovation.

"Sometimes there are so many people there that there's nowhere to sit. I'd gladly pay two rubles an hour for comfort without the jostling and people with trays scurrying past," wrote one user.

"Whenever you go to the food court of any shopping center, teenagers are sitting at empty tables, as if waiting for a friend. In that time, I can eat myself and feed my child, while they are still waiting, playing on their phones. Meanwhile, other people walk around with trays and don't know where to sit down to eat. This situation happens all the time!" a girl commented on Threads.
