The Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces called Alexander Lukashenka a gauleiter — a term used during World War II for administrators of territories occupied by Nazis. Brovdi also changed Lukashenka's surname to Lukashescu — an analogy with Nicolae Ceaușescu, the dictator of Romania, who was executed as a result of the 1989 popular uprising.
Brovdi's statement came on May 16, the day after a meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the heads of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the SBU, and Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, which took place on Friday, May 15. Following that meeting, Zelenskyy made several statements that also mentioned Belarus.
Zelenskyy's meeting took place a day after one of the most massive Russian missile and drone attacks since the start of the war. On Thursday, May 14, Russians launched 731 missiles and drones at Ukraine, with the main strike targeting the north and west of the country. At least six aerial objects used Belarusian airspace during their flight. In Kyiv, a residential building's entrance collapsed from a missile strike. 24 residents died, including two children. Dozens of people were injured.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Belarus hosts facilities used to guide Russian Shaheds to targets in Ukraine. In addition, a balloon that flew in from Belarus was shot down in Ukraine, which Ukrainians believe was a repeater for Russian Shaheds.
"Minsk Gauleiter Lukashescu! — writes the Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces. — We record the flight of every single Shahed that, using Belarusian corridors, heads to Ukraine, every one of your military-tinged movements and waverings…
You can twist your mustache for the camera as much as you want and lie to your intimidated people about 'neutrality,' but your limbs are already up to your shoulders in the bloody stew of murdered peaceful Ukrainians.
The next track: corridor for killers = complicity = cash," Brovdi wrote.
50-year-old Robert Brovdi, an ethnic Hungarian from Zakarpattia, was an innovative commander who founded and developed the "Birds of Magyar" unmanned operations unit. His extraordinary effectiveness attracted the attention of the command. A major, he was appointed Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces in 2025, where he multiplied his experience. According to the commander's report, after the first hundred days in this position, units of the USS Group carried out over 402,000 combat sorties, damaging or destroying 76,859 enemy targets. The intelligent use of drones has led to a situation where, according to Western intelligence estimates, the ratio of Russian to Ukrainian losses has now reached five to one.
