The main reason is strong winds and falling trees on power lines, which led to broken wires.
The most difficult situation has developed in Vitebsk and Minsk regions. Emergency crews and special equipment are involved in eliminating the consequences, as well as additional resources if necessary. According to data as of 20:00, restoration work continues in 259 settlements.
Dozens of crews are working on restoration efforts. An operational headquarters has been established at "Belenergo" to coordinate work and monitor the situation.
Energy workers are operating in an enhanced mode and are striving to restore power supply as quickly as possible in all affected settlements.
