Tsikhanouskaya spoke with captured Belarusians who fought on Russia's side in Kyiv
A message appeared on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian project "I Want to Live" ( link ) stating that on May 26, Dmytro Usau, Secretary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, held a meeting with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and her team.

It is reported that during this visit, representatives of the Belarusian delegation were able to speak with captured citizens of Belarus who participated in hostilities on Russia's side. The conversation took place via video link.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya asked the captured Belarusians about their motivation. They replied that they went to fight for money and now regret it.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya emphasized that the participation of these individuals in the war against Ukraine does not reflect the position of a significant part of Belarusian society.
«As of May 2026, personal data has been established for 2871 citizens of Belarus who signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. At least 440 of them are known to be dead or missing. Through the chatbot "I Want to Find," 520 applications have been received for missing persons whose nationality is indicated as Belarusian,» — said Dmytro Usau.

Among other things, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya thanked the Coordination Headquarters for its participation in the release of Belarusian political prisoners in December 2025.
