Visiting Mikhail Shrub's farm near Turov on August 14, Lukashenka spoke about a new weight loss remedy. And although he referred to the advanced experience of the elderly leader of Russian communists, his interest in this product oddly coincided with a new trend in the administration of US President Donald Trump.
While walking with Mikhail Shrub through an exhibition of numerous processed products that the farm supplies to the market, the politician paid special attention to sauerkraut and shared his knowledge about it.
“If it's two weeks, it's not fermented yet. It needs to have sat for a while,” Lukashenka authoritatively instructed the farmer, not letting him describe the products in more detail. Instead, he eagerly told a story from his recent life.
“I had Gennady Andreyevich Zyuganov – lean, 83 years old, fit, just like you. And he told me: sauerkraut once a day after lunch – mandatory. And now I'm looking for this sauerkraut. But truly fermented.”
Shrub, in response, swore that their cabbage was indeed the most genuine, not like others who might add some vinegar. "Ours is fermented according to real old recipes," he assured.
Earlier, it was reported that US Vice President J.D. Vance significantly lost weight after switching to a diet of sauerkraut and fermented vegetables. Other associates of Donald Trump have also taken to this diet. For example, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claims to have lost about 9 kilograms in the first month of such eating.
