President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the beginning of a new era in the country's history in connection with the entry into force on July 1 of the new Constitution of Kazakhstan. This is stated in the appeal of the head of state to his compatriots, published by his press service.
"Today a new era begins in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan. We are embarking on the main path of progressive development, political and economic reforms, and large-scale modernization. This day signifies a fundamental restructuring of the political system, the transformation of key state institutions and civil society institutions," — states the appeal of the head of state.
Tokayev congratulated the citizens of Kazakhstan "on a truly epoch-making event." He noted that in the referendum on March 15, the people made a fateful choice, which determined the country's development prospects for decades to come. The President expressed confidence that the country would achieve its stated goals and build a just Kazakhstan — a state of equal opportunities for all citizens.
