Passing by one of the residential buildings, he saw a bag on a bench, which contained a laptop, two chargers, a flash drive, and an expander. Looking around, the young man took someone else's property, Minsk-news report.
It turned out that the 80-year-old pensioner, who was returning from his dacha that day, had forgotten the bag on the bench. He then filed a statement with the police.
The identity of the culprit was quickly established from CCTV camera recordings, and a criminal case was initiated against him. He fully admitted his guilt, repented for what he had done, and returned the stolen laptop.
The young man was sentenced to 300 hours of community service.
