In Ivatsevichy District, a man shot a cyclist with an air gun for fun
A 53-year-old man contacted the Ivatsevichy District Department of Internal Affairs, reporting that an unknown person had inflicted bodily injuries upon him.
The man was riding a bicycle on a road near one of the villages in the Ivatsevichy district. At that moment, a 21-year-old resident of a neighboring village, who is unemployed and had previously come to the attention of law enforcement agencies, drove past him in a passenger car. An acquaintance was in the car with him.
The young man lowered the window on the passenger side and, for no reason whatsoever, fired no less than three shots at the cyclist from an air pistol. The man was shot with metal pellets.
The young man explained to police officers that he had purchased the air pistol and its accessories from an online store. According to him, he shot at the stranger simply for fun.
During a search at the suspect's place of residence, police officers found and confiscated an air pistol, seven metal CO2 cartridges, and a plastic container with metal pellets.
A criminal case has been initiated against the young man for especially malicious hooliganism. He has been taken into custody. The maximum penalty under this article is up to 10 years of imprisonment.
