Belarusian Woman Grew 'Chestnut' Cucumbers in Her Garden. What Are They?
Olga Hrynkevich, a resident of the Sloboda agro-town, surprised her relatives with an unusual harvest — the woman grew 'chestnut' variety cucumbers, which resemble small pumpkins in appearance, writes narachanka.by.
The seeds of the unusual vegetable were given to the Belarusian woman by a friend. According to Olga, the variety showed excellent yield and bore fruit all summer.
The cucumbers themselves grew compact (mostly slightly larger than a chicken egg) and, most importantly, without thorns.
In taste, they are no inferior to regular ones: they were eaten fresh and added to salads, and the grandchildren especially appreciated the new harvest.
Next year, the hostess plans to significantly increase the plantings of this unusual variety.
