Israeli Prime Minister's son Yair Netanyahu was urgently evacuated from Miami to Israel due to a serious threat to his security, Bild reports.

This was confirmed by the Israeli special service Shin Bet. "There was indeed a significant danger. After assessing the situation, it was decided to urgently return him to Israel along with a security team," the special service's statement reads.

Newsmax TV channel, citing a source in American law enforcement, claims that late last year Yair Netanyahu became the target of an alleged Iranian assassination plot.

According to the channel's data, Iranian agents were in Miami, monitoring his home and movements. After this, Netanyahu Jr., it is alleged, was ordered to leave immediately, and he left the US without taking personal belongings.

Shin Bet, however, did not confirm that the threat specifically came from Iran. Earlier, Benjamin Netanyahu publicly stated that Tehran had tried to kill one of his sons, but did not specify which one.

This week, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaee, also publicly threatened Netanyahu himself. "We will send Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, to hell," he stated.
