KGB detained a group of people accused of collecting classified information about defense enterprises
The State Security Committee of Belarus announced the cessation of activity of a group of citizens of the country suspected of collecting classified information about defense industry enterprises in the interests of a foreign handler.
According to KGB information, the suspects collected data on production capacities, the movement of certain types of products, and employees of the enterprises. To transmit the collected information, they allegedly used specially created communication channels.
As reported by the KGB press service, as a result of operational measures, the group members were detained. Communication devices, electronic information carriers, and money received for fulfilling assignments were confiscated from them.
A criminal case has been initiated in this regard. Investigators, as reported, are clarifying all circumstances of the incident and possible connections of the detainees.
The number of detainees and their names are not yet being disclosed.
