An unusual school inspired by "Harry Potter" and space films will be built in Minsk, the developer company informed Times.by.
The new school will be located in the "Green Harbor" residential complex, not far from the "Birdhouse" kindergarten, which opened last October. In the future, a social cluster will emerge there, featuring a shopping center, a polyclinic, another school, and sports grounds.
The educational institution will be named "School of Discoveries". The developer is A-100 Development.
The school will focus on natural sciences — chemistry, physics, biology, astronomy, geography — and will consist of three buildings of different heights: "Moon" (3 floors), "Mars" (4 floors), and "Sun" (4 floors). The first two are intended for classes, while the "Sun" building is planned to house sports halls, a canteen, and an assembly hall.
Each floor will have its own thematic names. For example, in "Moon", the first level will be called "Star Ocean", the second "Planetary Fauna", and the third "Cosmic Garden". Whereas "Mars" will consist of "Night Sky", "Solar System", "Farthest Galaxy", and "Big Bang Theory".
The interiors of all buildings will be designed in the style of a research station.
Forbidden Forest — like in Hogwarts
The school yard will be equipped with various zones and spaces featuring eco-paths and bicycle lanes. The developer promises to create a "likeness of the Forbidden Forest" — like in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter films.
The sports zone will include pitches for football, basketball, and volleyball, tennis courts, table tennis tables, an obstacle course, and workout equipment.
There will be a zone with windmills, solar panels, spyglasses and echo tubes, a vegetable garden, greenhouses, slides, and various climbing structures.
«In the vegetable gardens and mini-greenhouses, children will conduct experiments and grow plants under the guidance of a biology teacher. Almost like in the famous Hogwarts,» the company noted.
The quietest part of the yard is the "Shelter" zone, where secrets can be shared in special "whispering spots" (cozy gazebos). There will also be stump seats, a rock garden, birdhouses, feeders, and insect observation areas.
The school is designed for 1125 people and is planned to be completed in 2028.
