British rock band Oasis on Monday announced a new world tour, which will take place in 2027 and cover the UK, Europe, and the USA. The decision was made after the band's unexpected and triumphant return to the stage last year, writes the BBC.
Liam and Noel Gallagher will play 38 concerts, including 11 in their hometown of Manchester, all of which will take place in June at the "Etihad Stadium" — the home arena of Manchester City Football Club, of which Noel is a long-time fan.
Performances are also planned in Glasgow, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam, Boston, and other cities.
The tour will kick off in Glasgow in May 2027 and conclude in September with four concerts in Knebworth — 30 years after Oasis' legendary performances at that venue north of London.
A new pre-registration system will be introduced for ticket sales. This decision was made after numerous complaints from fans about prices and hours-long queues during ticket sales for the 2025 tour, which marked Oasis's return to the stage.
Fans who successfully register will receive a special access code. According to the organizers, this system should reduce queues and make it more difficult for ticket touts.
The band, which became one of the main symbols of the Britpop era thanks to hits like Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, and Supersonic, had been hinting at a continuation of their reunion tour for several weeks.
On Monday, the musicians published an announcement on social media, accompanying it with the words: "Time to start celebrating!"
"After a period of reflection, the 'most destructive pop-cultural force in recent British history' has declared itself ready to work again and is returning to uplift people's spirits," the band's statement reads. "This will be a spectacle worth seeing."
The Gallagher brothers announced the end of their 15-year conflict and the reunion of Oasis in August 2024. The news caused a real stir around tickets for their world tour.
A total of 41 concerts in Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America were attended by over two million people, and revenues amounted to approximately 400 million dollars.
The band was founded in 1991 by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher in Manchester. The elder, Noel, is the guitarist, author of most of the songs, and producer of the band; the younger, Liam, is the main vocalist.
Over the years of performing, the brothers earned a reputation as "bad boys," constantly making newspaper headlines due to scandalous situations.
The long hiatus in their musical career is linked to a conflict in 2009 between the brothers, the true cause of which is not precisely known.
It all started with Noel Gallagher's statement that he "just could not work with Liam for one day more." Over the next 10 years, the brothers waged a verbal war and performed separately.
The band's concerts in the 1990s are considered legendary, and their hits Live Forever, Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Stand By Me have become global classics of 20th-century pop music.
