Paid a fine of 18 thousand rubles.

Employees of the anti-smuggling department inspected a Volkswagen Crafter car in the Zhabinka district, driven by a Belarusian traveling from Belarus to Russia. During the inspection of the cargo compartment, customs officers found three dogs and a cat belonging to the driver's acquaintance and became interested in the matter, Onlinebrest reports.
Using a portable radiofrequency transponder reader, the veterinary inspector identified the animals' subcutaneous microchips.
They were two Chow Chow dogs, a Scottish Terrier dog, and a Maine Coon cat.
As the driver explained, he imported the animals into Belarus by evading customs control: the animals were handed over to other persons and transported under the guise of goods for personal use, without paying duties.
The total estimated value of the animals was 18,011 rubles.
