Apple updated satellite images of Minsk. These are now the freshest space images of the capital
The new images are only five months old. They show what current construction sites in Minsk look like. Blizko.by studied the new footage.
For the American giant, the territory of Belarus has almost always been far from a priority. Even when Apple's mapping service was launched, which was widely criticized worldwide at the time, Minsk was shown practically only by the Minsk Ring Road without any details.
Apple uses satellite images from Maxar. Previously, they were updated for Minsk in March 2025, with the images themselves taken in July 2024. A new update has now appeared.
The exact date of the images is not indicated on the maps, but a transport forum was able to narrow down the range of possible dates.
Thus, the assembly of the "Maria" tunneling shield for metro construction is already underway, but the pit for its technical maintenance is still only being dug. At the same time, the northern bypass of the future "Park Druzhby Narodov" metro station is being asphalted. This indicates that the image was taken in late April 2026, probably around April 24.
These are the freshest satellite images of Minsk. The last update of Yandex Maps showed images from October 2025, and Google Maps showed images from January 2026.
However, there is a nuance: different parts of Minsk on Apple Maps were taken at different times. For example, the National Historical Museum on Arlouskaya Street is still at the excavation stage, and the construction of a new bridge over the railway from Kamennaya Horka to Rzhavets is completely absent. This means that the western part of the city was captured no later than 2025.
The seam line of different images can be traced east of Dauhinava Trakt, on Masherava Avenue in Victory Park, and along Peramozhtsaoŭ Avenue.
In some places, you can also orient yourself by the color of green areas. Where the grass is green in the western part of the city, those are old images. And where it is more faded, gray-brown, those are new ones. A particularly clear contrast is visible on Pushkina Avenue, where the seam line runs right in the middle of the roadway.
The territory of the Vavilau factory near the Maskoŭskaya metro station has already been cleared for housing construction.
In the area of Bryleŭskaya and Virskaya streets - in the westernmost part of Minsk-World - active construction is underway.
New roads are being laid to "Paŭnochny Bereh" (Northern Shore).
The images also show the southern part of "Paŭnochny Bereh" itself.
The development of Loshytsa continues.
Two cranes still tower over the "Dubravinski" residential complex.
An infectious diseases hospital is being built on Dauhinava Trakt. On Yandex Maps, this construction is already slightly more advanced, which means that this fragment on Apple Maps was taken before October 2024.
And nearby, in Navinki, next to the already built three-section high-rise by ZEPK, a second identical house to its south and a new monolithic-frame house to its north have already grown significantly. On Yandex Maps, in contrast, there is a significant lag here. This means that the seam line of the images passed precisely between these two construction sites. This can also be noticed by the different color of the trees in the forest.
A similar house by ZEPK in Akademyaharadok has already been completed.
Building No. 15 of BNTU is preparing for opening, work is still ongoing around it.
A crane still towers over the paired high-rise buildings on the edge of the Agat factory territory.
