BELAZ tests autonomous dump truck. It's near Luninets, but controlled from Minsk
The machine's operation was demonstrated on October 1 at the Sitnitskoye test site in the Luninets district.

In the Brest region, the autonomous BELAZ-7558R dump truck is being tested, which can be controlled remotely from Minsk. At the industrial exhibition "Innoprom. Belarus" in Minsk, an operator's workstation for remote control of quarry equipment was demonstrated. A specialist directly from the stand could control the 90-ton robotic dump truck, which was hundreds of kilometers away at the test site.

According to Dmitry Eliseev, Deputy General Designer for Digitalization of Quarry Equipment, customers are actively interested in machines capable of autonomous operation. BELAZ is negotiating with several large customers to whom autonomous dump trucks are planned to be supplied. About 50 representatives of potential clients came to the Luninets district to see the equipment.
BELAZ General Director Sergey Lesin noted that the main task now is to test the new technology in real operating conditions, writes BelTA.
The autonomous dump truck uses computer vision and neural network algorithms. They allow the machine to recognize obstacles, predict movement, and make decisions independently. The dispatching system allows one operator to simultaneously control the operation of five such machines.
It is expected that the technology will help solve the problem of driver shortage, more efficiently use quarry equipment, and ensure the regularity of its operation.
In autonomous mode, the dump truck independently performs the entire work cycle — from loading to unloading and returning to the loading site. The machine builds and adjusts routes, monitors blind spots and safety zones, and also tracks the presence of people near the equipment.
