The Kremlin's press secretary commented on Trump's words that Ukraine allegedly needs a new president.

U.S. President Donald Trump suggested Ukraine elect a new head of state because Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not show the political will to end the conflict, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, told RIA Novosti.
"Trump said he believes it’s time for a new president. Why? Because the president of Ukraine must make very responsible and very difficult decisions to end this war. Either Zelenskyy takes on such responsibility, shows such political will, or he doesn't," Peskov said.
The press secretary of the Russian president noted that the Ukrainian leader does not want to do this yet. Russia would like to conclude an agreement on a conflict settlement in Ukraine, whereas Zelenskyy does not want to negotiate, Trump stated the day before.
On Saturday, at a briefing, Donald Trump stated that Ukraine needs a new leader.
"I think it's time for Ukraine to get a new president," Trump told reporters at a briefing. "I suggest they get a new leader who can make a deal. Because he could make many deals, but for some reason, he never does."
According to Donald Trump, he has repeatedly told Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he "can do anything with Russia," except for striking oil refineries. However, as the American president claims, the Ukrainian leader "want to create problems for the whole world."
