In Switzerland, the sister of two former Belarusian political prisoners has been missing for over a month
For over a month, 27-year-old Luiza Pipia, a Belarusian citizen living in Switzerland, has not been in contact with her relatives. Her brother Tamaz told the publication "Zerkalo" about this.

Luiza's brothers, Timur and Tamaz Pipia, are former political prisoners. They were detained in September 2020 and convicted under criminal articles related to "mass riots" (Timur also for "violence or threat of violence against an internal affairs officer"). The men were released in the spring of 2026 and left Belarus.
Luiza left the country earlier. According to Tamaz, the reason was pressure from security forces.
In 2022, she went to Georgia, and later to Switzerland, where her husband is from. Her son Mikhail was born there. The family lived in the city of St. Gallen.

According to Tamaz, he and his sister had a good relationship and kept in touch. However, on September 23, 2026, she unexpectedly did not reply to a message on Telegram. Calls also went unanswered.
“Since that moment, she has not been in contact with me or anyone else,” the former political prisoner said. “She doesn't answer her cell phone or social media. She doesn't reply to anyone, doesn't even casually view anyone's stories. I don't know what to think anymore.”
According to Tamaz, Luiza's husband is also unreachable. She stopped communicating with the acquaintances he managed to reach. The interviewee says he has "already exhausted all possible options."
Could the woman have returned to Belarus?
“Theoretically, I'm already considering that. But practically, it would mean immediate arrest at the airport, that's clear. She knows that,” he says.
It is currently problematic for the brothers to go looking for Luiza. They have been in Lithuania for several months awaiting document processing and cannot leave the country while their case is under consideration. Searching for their sister in Belarus is even more difficult, as both brothers were added to the wanted list after their release and departure.
