In the Center of Gomel, an Unfinished Building Was Demolished, Which Never Became Anything in 13 Years
In Gomel, one of the city's most famous long-term construction projects was demolished — a reinforced concrete frame at the intersection of Kirov and Khataevich streets, as the State Control Committee reports . Originally, a 12-story multifunctional business center with two-level parking was planned for this site.

Construction began in 2013. The first developer was Minsk-based LLC "Karpovich", which had implemented several residential projects in Gomel. The complex was planned to be completed in four years, but deadlines were repeatedly postponed, and the building was never finished.
Later, the four-story reinforced concrete frame came into the ownership of the "Multipack" enterprise. The company considered various options for using the building. Initially, it was planned to convert it into a nine-story office complex with catering facilities, and later — into an apartment building with integrated premises. However, none of these projects were realized either.
The situation changed after the intervention of the State Control Committee. It turned out that the long-term construction project was not even included in the database of objects with overdue unfinished construction. As a result, a decision was made to seize the land plot and demolish the unfinished building.

The demolition is now complete, the area has been reclaimed, and returned to the land assets of Gomel. The plot is planned to be put up for auction for the implementation of an investment project. What exactly is planned to be built there has not yet been announced.
The demolition of the long-term construction project in the city center is seen as a step towards revitalizing the urban space.
