The International Federation of Film Critics praised film based on Belarusian novel.
The official Jury presided over by Nanni Moretti revealed the award winners of the 65th Cannes Film Festival on May 27, 2012.
The film by Belarus-born director Siarhiej Laznica ‘V Tumane (In the Fog)’ based on Vasil Bykau’s novel did not remain unnoticed and was awarded by The International Federation of Film Critics FIPRESCI award, reports TUT.BY.
The Palm d’Or went to ‘Amour’ directed by Michael Haneke.
This year’s grand prix was taken by ‘Reality’ directed by Matteo Garrone, the jury’s choice fell on ‘The Angels' Share’ directed by Ken Loach.
The best director’s award will be taken to Mexico by Carlos Reygadas.
