The deaths of Belarusians in 2023 highlight the tragedy their homeland is experiencing. Over the past year, Belarus has lost scientists, cultural figures, politicians, and businessmen. Political refugees died abroad, fighters of Belarusian volunteer units defending Ukraine perished. Political prisoners died in captivity. But they live on in us and will continue to live on in our children and grandchildren.
